ALS Symposium Welcomes North Georgia Franchise to Event

101 Mobility of North Georgia is slated to hold an exhibition at this year's statewide ALS Educational Symposium.

The 2015 ALS Educational Symposium, a statewide event hosted by The ALS Association of North Georgia, has invited 101 Mobility of North Georgia to be an exhibitor at the event. Entitled “Living for Today, Learning for Tomorrow,” this year’s convention is scheduled to be held on Saturday, June 27 at Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre in Atlanta, Georgia.

The event is heralded as a great opportunity for Georgia residents with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) – also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease – and experts in the field to find/discuss the latest in medical equipment, treatments, and research.

"We want to reach more families and show them different products to help them while dealing with this disease."

Garol Orr, Owner of 101 Mobility of North Georgia

“We are excited to be at the event as an exhibitor,” said Garol Orr, who co-owns 101 Mobility of North Georgia with her husband Bill Orr. “It’s always great to have an interactive workshop experience where you get to hear from professionals in the ALS community.”

101 Mobility of North Georgia, a leading provider of mobility and accessibility solutions throughout the area, is honored to have an opportunity to showcase their products to individuals dealing with ALS-associated conditions.

“We want to reach more families and show them different products to help them while dealing with this disease,” Orr explained. “Hopefully, our efforts will touch some of our veterans, retail customers, and others throughout our community.”

Ginger Taylor and Wayne Offenhauer will be representing Orr’s business at the Community Partner Expo portion of the ALS Symposium. Setting up their own booth, 101 Mobility of North Georgia will have several patient lift products on display for attendees.

Aside from the Community Partner Expo, the symposium will feature Keynote Speaker Dr. Luci Bruijn (Chief Scientist with The ALS Association), comic relief by James Rodatus, a raffle giveaway, as well as breakout sessions with top ALS experts. The event is scheduled to last from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

“Everyone in the ALS Association and everyone who lives with ALS is invited to the event,” Orr said.

Bringing together individuals with ALS, caregivers, medical professionals, and exhibitors, the topics of discussion will include current symptomatic treatments, supportive care, current research, and alternative treatments.
